Meet Your Care Provider Solutions Team

“And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years”.

– Edward Stieglitz

Nadine

Co-Founder

My name is Nadine Carlson, Co-Founder and Consultant for Care Provider Solutions. On a regular day you will likely find me creating systems to benefit adult residential homes owners and operators, writing blogs and social media content to educate and help run an AFC better, or working directly with an adult foster care home provider to address their specific residential assisted living home needs. There are not a lot of resources and adult foster care system specialists to work with. I love that my job allows me to provide this necessary adult foster care home business consulting to help owners and operators run their businesses better and support their growth and profitability.

My favorite thing about my job is that I can use the experience gained over 12 years of owning and operating AFC Homes to benefit others. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband, sons, grand dog and doing things that make life fun. I am looking forward to learning more about you!

Interesting tidbits about Nadine

1

I always like to keep busy. Whether it is working out, reading, knitting, cooking, traveling, sailing or entertaining family and friends, I find joy in always having something to do.

2

My husband Jeff and I are Friendship Family volunteers with Neighbors International. We enjoy spending time with students from around the world that attend colleges in West Michigan. Our goal is to make them feel welcome in a country that may seem unfamiliar.

3

My faith as a Christian drives my desire to understand the people I interact with, and to treat them with respect and dignity, no matter their background.

I do my best to “Do unto others as you would have done to you”.

Matthew 7:12

Jeff

Co-Founder & Media Producer

I’m Jeff Carlson, co-founder of Care Provider Solutions. A few years ago, Nadine and I decided to work together to create a way for her to coach other AFC owners and managers, helping them work smarter with less stress and to maximize the benefits to their residents and the profits from their businesses. My role is media production, business planning, and communications with members. It’s very rewarding to be part of something that allows me to use my filmmaking experience to put Nadine’s teaching into the hands of our members at an affordable level. I also enjoy bringing people together in our communities to support each other, and together, ultimately help raise the bar of quality of care in AFC organizations.

My favorite thing about producing video is that the process features the talents and personalities of interesting people. I enjoy the creative process and benefiting the lives of those who watch the finished product. I also enjoy horses, sailing, reading, learning, most sports and, most of all, holding hands with my amazing wife, Nadine.

Interesting tidbits about Jeff

1

I learned filmmaking by working in the industry in LA. When you tell someone in Hollywood that you are a filmmaker, they assume you probably also wait tables or are a carpenter! My memory isn’t sharp enough to be a waiter, so…

2

Life here on earth is all about God. And religion is the great impostor. I know from personal experience that God is good and God is Love. I feel that the desire to serve – especially to serve those who can’t care for themselves is a great example of people wanting to share Love with others. Caregivers are our heroes!

3

I am a master carpenter and have had the opportunity to create beautiful furniture and homes.

4

I have three daughters and a son and two step-sons, all grown, and two grandchildren.

Skylar

Administrative Assistant

I’m Skylar, the Administrative Assistant at Care Provider Solutions. My role is to perform clerical duties for the company such as email tracking and communication, client relations, and providing information as requested. I have a passion for helping others, and have loved getting to learn more about the AFC Industry with Care Provider Solutions.

Interesting tidbits about Skykar

I have a degree in music education, and I am pursuing a certification in music therapy. I have always had a passion for music, and thinking about combining that passion with my passion to help others, I have decided to take my music degree into the therapeutic field!

One of my favorite things to do is worship. I have been singing on church praise teams since I was 15. There is no other place where I feel the most peaceful and content.

I have a twin brother! We don’t have much in common, and everyone always thinks my younger sister is his twin..

Melody

Designer

I’m Melody, website designer for Care Provider Solutions. My role is to create and maintain a visually pleasing and functional digital platform with the ability to reach AFC owners, operators, and care providers with solutions. The goal is to use that platform to facilitate the delivery of tools, processes, and support needed for success and reduced stress in the AFC industry. It’s truly rewarding to use my passion for design to contribute to the mission of success for the individuals and businesses who compassionately provide such an essential service.

Interesting tidbits about Melody

My husband and I got to have two weddings.

Our “original” wedding took place in 2020, during the pandemic. With a back yard for a venue, only our closest friends and family, and a private after-party at an arcade, it was a simple and beautiful day.

“Wedding 2.0” in 2021 was a vow renewal and big reception at a local historical village venue. We had flowers all over, plenty of photos, a DJ to keep the dancing going, and a walk-up taco truck for the meal… the whole shebang.

I love botanical gardens!

There’s nothing quite like being able to experience such diversity and beauty in plant and insect life all in the same place. I can’t pick a favorite, but this tiny pineapple is definitely up there.

I enjoy cosplaying as a hobby.

“Cosplay” describes dressing up as characters from works of fiction. Making my own outfits is a rewarding challenge, and it’s a great way to find a deeper appreciation for the artwork cosplays are based on. An added bonus is that I always have something fun to wear on Halloween for the trick-or-treaters.
