On May 14, 2024, AFC Licensed home owners and operators from across the State of Michigan gathered for an exciting day to learn best-in-industry practices to help them succeed. Knowledge, tools, and connections boosted their confidence to take their residential assisted living businesses to the next level of success.
“It’s energizing when so many licensed adult foster home provider operators can gather together.”,Care Provider Solutions Co-Founder and Adult Foster Care System Specialist, Nadine Carlson comments. “Every day AFC home owners and their staff fully give themselves to provide quality care to those that can’t live independently. It is very fulfilling to fill their cups to move them to the next level.”
Located at the beautiful downtown office of Construction Simplified, one of the attendees agreed, “It was amazing to be able to talk with peers and bounce problems and solutions. I left with a lot of good information. I did not even feel like I had been there for 6 hours!”
In addition to best-in-industry practices, the engaged crowd learned what they came for. Trends associated with improving the operation of their facilities, tips for financial success, employee hiring and retention strategies, and tools to save time to enable more time to provide better resident care. In fact, another attendee commented after being asked, what was the most valuable information you received today, “I don’t know how to choose one thing. So much great information.” “I loved everything,” said another.
The addition of breakout sessions to uplevel skill sets, rounded out the successful day. Activities in and outside the AFC, managing resident behaviors and understanding how to work with and view Recipient Rights as a friend versus a foe, provided the education to address common areas of struggle faced by AFC owners.
Laurie Labie, Executive Director of Enriched Living and Co-Presenter commented to sum up the day, “It was a pleasure to meet with so many compassionate business owners looking to change the world and face of AFC home care in Michigan.”
Based on the success of the event, for those that missed it, Care Provider Solutions and Enriched Living will partner again to offer the course a third time. “We can’t wait for the next event to continue to partner with AFC Home owners and operators and make a difference in their Adult Foster Care Community. We will announce the next date soon.” says Nadine.
