On April 18, AFC Licensed home owners and operators from across the State of Michigan gathered for an exciting day to learn best-in-industry practices to boost their confidence and help them succeed. Knowledge, tools, and connections boosted their confidence to take their licensed AFC to the next level of success.
It is not often AFC operators are acknowledged for their dedication and commitment to serve others. In an effort to change that, Scaling Up started with a Hero Walk and celebration line for their contributions to make a difference in people’s lives.
“It’s energizing when so many licensed adult foster home provider operators can gather together.”,Care Provider Solutions Co-Founder and Adult Foster Care System Specialist, Nadine Carlson comments. “Every day AFC homeowners and their staff fully give themselves to provide quality care to those that can’t live independently. It is very fulfilling to fill their cups to move them to the next level.”
Located at the Studio @ 414 , one of the attendees agreed, “So many Golden Nuggets! We learned ways to work smarter not harder. All very valuable information to help streamline our processes. I give the conference a 10.”
In addition to best-in-industry practices, the engaged crowd learned what they came for. Trends associated with improving the operation of their facilities, regulatory updates, tips for financial success, employee hiring and retention strategies, and tools to save time to enable more time to provide better resident care.
In fact, another attendee commented after being asked, what was the most valuable information you received today, “It was tough to find the “MOST” valuable. The whole day was very informative. I really enjoyed the sessions. I rate it as a 10!”
The addition of a choice of two breakout sessions to uplevel skill sets rounded out the successful day. The Community of Mental Health Panel Q&A, communication and leadership skills and dementia provided the education to address common areas of struggle faced by AFC owners.
Laurie Labie, Executive Director of Enriched Living and Co-Presenter also commented, “It was a pleasure to meet with so many compassionate business owners looking to make a difference in the world.”
Based on the success of the event, for those who missed it, Care Provider Solutions and Enriched Living will partner again to offer the course next year. “We can’t wait for the next event to continue to partner with AFC Home owners and operators and make a difference in their Adult Foster Care Community. We will announce the next date soon.” says Nadine.
